Lucky
Lester here again with a little insight
on how to select your favorite NFL team
to win the 2005 Super Bowl. Yeah I know
it is a little bit early to be thinking
about that but hey
Feb. 6, 2005 will
be here before you know it! All of the odds
that are listed below are based upon Las
Vegas odds that were posted August 26, 2004
and may differ from your favorite Internet
Sport Book Super Bowl odds, which generally
gives you even better odds. One thing is
certain though; the odds will undoubtedly
change between the time of this posting
and the day of the big show.
Betting
on Super Bowl Winners
Everyone
likes to risk a little to win a lot. Let's
face it; some bets are like blackjack with
good odds but only allowing for the doubling
of your money, while others are like slot
machines where the odds are not as high
but if you win, money keeps falling out
of that machine. What every Gambler is looking
for is a bet that pays out like slot machines
with the odds of blackjack. While that is
relatively hard or impossible to find, I
think I've found something everyone should
take a look at. Betting on Super Bowl winners
before the season starts. This bet can pay
out as much as 50:1 if your team gets lucky
like Lester. I've got five bets that I've
found recently, that if won, will pay out
as little as 17:1 and as much as 50 bucks
for your dollar. Look at these long shots
that just might have a shot.
As
you may recall or if you missed last
week's articles, I identified five teams
whose poor reserve Quarterback play should
be your key to betting against them in the
NFL Football preseason. Also I wrote about
some preseason teams to bet on.
Falcons
(17:1)
The Falcons have the lowest pay out (17:1)
of the five teams I'll run through, but
I'd say the best chance to pay out. While
Mike Vick has seen little action in the
preseason, there's no doubt in my mind that
he'll be a dominating force. The Peerless
Price/Mike Vick combo that had falcons fans
excited...

Raiders
(20:1)
In a single year the Raiders went from Super
Bowl runner up to bottom of the barrel and
a number 2 pick in the NFL draft. What happened?
While injuries and team turmoil ran abundantly
through the team, age also became a factor.
So what did Al Davis do to make me think
the Raider's odds at...

Jaguars
(30:1)
Young, athletic, a good running back, a
good receiver, a young unproven quarterback,
a hard nosed defense. Sound like anybody?
Sure, sounds like the Panthers a year ago.
Well, at 30:1 I might just take a chance
at these Jaguars being a touchdown better
than the Panthers a year ago. One TD and
the Panthers... (click

Saints
(35:1)
The saints have been a slump away from a
great team the last three years. Aaron Brooks
is a talented QB with weapons. Listen to
this list of studs; Joe Horn, Donte Stallworth,
Deuce McAlister, Jerome Pathon, and return
man Michael Lewis. In these guys Brooks
has 3 speed happy receivers and a...

Texans
(50:1)
The Texans are the newest team in the NFL
but they're way better than the 50:1 odds
they're being given. If you take a 10 dollar
flyer on these youngsters and they do the
unthinkable the payoff is 500 bucks. I'm
here to tell you they've got a better chance
then a shot in the dark. Future star QB
David Carr...

Other Intriguing Prospects: The Seahawks
at 12:1, the Panthers at 15:1,
and the Steelers at 20:1 are also worth
recognizing. The Hawks are loaded at every
position and have shown a confidence that
makes them exciting. The Panthers at 15:1
went to the Super Bowl last year
and
almost beat the heroic Patriots. The Steelers
have 3 amazing wide receivers and Duce Staley
has looked great in the pre-season. He was
underused last year in Philly, and I'm sure
he's out to prove it. Add these three teams
to the list. Take a chance on one of the
teams in my elite eight and come out with
a little, or a lot of pocket cash!
